Earlier this month we had the pleasure of photographing Samantha and Chris’s elegant, fun-filled summer wedding at Belle Mer on Goat Island in Newport. The glamorous, contemporary venue was the perfect setting for the couple’s exquisite and fresh oceanside celebration.
Samantha and her family got ready at Belle Mer while Chris prepared for the day at a nearby hotel with his family. Everyone traveled to Providence for the ceremony which took place at St. Augustine Church. Following the ceremony we headed to the Elms on iconic Bellevue Avenue in Newport to spend some time taking photographs of the newlyweds. The lush green grass and pink and white flowers at the national historic landmark made for a perfect back drop.
The reception and cocktail hour took place back at Belle Mer where everyone gathered to celebrate and dance to the Starlight Duo while enjoying an unbeatable view overlooking the Atlantic ocean and Newport Bridge. The room was glowing with bright colors, soft flowers and a sense of south beach chic. The couple also added a personal touches on their escort cards by including personalized pictures of all the guests and the cake topper included their beloved dog Penny.
For the reception, the couple enjoyed their grand entrance into the ballroom and shared their first dance to “Bonfire Heart” by James Blunt. Samantha, Chris and their guests enjoyed the seaside lawn, aglow with soft lanterns, fire pit and modern white lawn furniture and the music of Starlight Orchestra kept everyone on their feet throughout the evening.
We could not have been happier to be a part of this wonderful celebration. Congratulations Samantha and Chris!
