When planning an engagement session with a couple, we often suggest they meet us in our Back Bay studio right on Newbury Street. This area is perfect for a quick walk-around photo shoot, and offers a wide variety of backdrops for fun, beautiful images that really show all Boston has to offer. For engaged couple Bettina and John, this wasn’t a problem at all — they already live in the neighborhood!

After a cold, rainy week and dreary early morning, things weren’t looking good for an outdoor engagement session. All of a sudden the clouds parted, the sun came out, and we were ready to go! Bettina & John were sweet, loving, and above all so cute! They were able to take time out of their busy schedules planning a summer wedding at the Four Seasons Boston (with the help of our friends at SD Events) to join us for this quick shoot, and the pictures speak for themselves. The Crane Estate in Ipswich MA is one of our favorite New England venues for outdoor weddings — with the enormous and historic Great House located on Castle Hill and sweeping half-mile manicured lawns, all just steps away from the ocean, its a perfect summertime venue. A few weeks ago it was the home to a Seaside Wedding Showcase, which Person + Killian Photography was delighted to not only photograph, but be a part of as well.

Future brides, grooms, and guests were invited to visit the Estate, preview the breathtaking ocean views, and meet with dozens of New England wedding professionals to help them envision and plan their upcoming big day. The Crane Estate has also introduced options for eco-conscious weddings, making it easy for environmentally friendly brides and grooms to have a gorgeous “green” wedding!

As soon as the couple saw the Fairmont Copley they knew it would be the perfect venue for their Boston wedding. It was especially important that their friends and family who had traveled from out-of-town be a part of the celebration; there’s no better place to see historic Boston than from the center of Copley Square!

The Grand Ballroom’s detailed and extravagant architecture provided the perfect backdrop for the beautiful floral arrangements by florist William Mizuta, and all of the decor for the evening included touches of Michelle’s favorite color — purple.

Following the beautiful Jewish ceremony on-site at the Fairmont, guests danced the night away with help of the band Night Shift , and indulged their sweet tooth at a custom candy bar. A celebratory Hora and night of dancing made this evening extra special for Michelle, Eric, and all of their loved ones.

Congratulations Michelle and Eric, and thank you for letting us be a part of your beautiful spring wedding in Boston!

Person + Killian Photography had a great time with Jacob and his whole family at this event, which began at the Congregation Kehillath Israel in Brookline with a tradition morning service, followed by a reception luncheon at the temple. Everything ran smoothly and looked gorgeous thanks to Carol Silverston and Jodi Raphael Events who did all of the planning and floral design for the celebration. After a short afternoon break, the evening dinner party kicked off a few hours later at Bella Luna Restaurant in Jamaica Plain.  Klass Universal Entertainment kept kids dancing all night!

We started on Sunday night, when The Catered Affair invited us to be a part of the Marathon’s annual pre-race Pasta Party in Boston’s City Hall Plaza. This annual gathering of Boston officials and runners from around the world allows guests to socialize, celebrate, and fuel up before the big race Monday morning! A delicious buffet provided by The Catered Affair and a presentation by Boston’s own Mayor Menino made this Marathon tradition an evening to remember for all the guests and runners.

Marathon Monday was just as exciting with the annual Boston Marathon Celebration, held in the heart of the city at the Mandarin Oriental Boston. The event took place in the Oriental Ballroom on the second floor, providing a perfect view of the race below and the runners at the 26 mile mark! All decor and rentals provided by Be Our Guest.

The goal of Longwood Giving is to help struggling non-profits pump up their fundraising efforts through well-executed events, and eventually allow them to bring in more money for great causes. And who better to help out in such a valiant effort than Longwood Events?

Longwood Giving was launched earlier this month with their “Friends with Benefits” event, held at Longwood’s own State Room Boston, and Person + Killian Photography was delighted to be asked to be the exclusive photographers for the evening!

Longwood Giving partnered with the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) for this VIP event, whose highlights included culinary masters from both Boston and Nantucket, actual MLB Players Alumni, and a performance by up-and-coming artist (and recent Grammy winner!) Shea Rose.

Congratulations to Longwood Events for a very successful night, and thank you for letting Person + Killian Photography be a part of it!

Longwood Events Launches Longwood Giving at State Room Boston with VIP Charity Event. The event, held at the Sheraton Boston Hotel, featured bridal consultations from Randy himself and a presentation full of tips and advice for choosing the perfect gown.  Over 350 people and 200 brides-to-be came out to the event, for a chance to consult with Randy and meet with some of Boston’s top wedding professionals.

Person + Killian Photography had a great time participating in and photographing this event (with someone like Randy involved, how could we not???), and we are so happy we had the opportunity to be part of it!

The early morning reception was held in The Charles Hotel’s own Rialto Restaurant and Bar, after which we moved into the Regatta Bar for the latter half and panel discussion. The Regatta looked stunning under the design of Marrero Events, with help from Rentals Unlimited for linens and decor and splashes of color from two gorgeous florists — Madison Floral and Karla Cassidy Designs. The topic of this years discussion was “Embrace your Competition”, with a panel consisting of event professionals from several different backgrounds including Janie Haas of Janie Haas Events, and prominent special event DJ Mike Amado of Entertainment Specialists.

As always, Person + Killian Photography had a blast photographing such a fun and beautiful event for fellow Boston wedding professionals!
